Mick Orr is a designer-craftsman and founder, with fellow design director Morag Bremner, of Bremner & Orr Design Consultants Ltd. Cotswold-based, this multidisciplinary practice quickly gained a reputation for innovative work in museum design, interpretive and interactive exhibitions and educational campaigns. For 30+ years their in-house teams of designers, illustrators and makers have provided unique concept schemes, consultancies, exhibitions, publications, learning and story-building environments for museums, visitor centres, historic buildings and great houses. Their clients have included major city and regional museum services, National Trust, English Heritage, Cadw and Historic Scotland. Together with client teams their projects have won Museum of the Year, European Museum of the Year, Gulbenkian Award for Most Imaginative Education Work and many Tourist Awards. Mick started his creative career in secondary education. He moved through heading creative departments, national curriculum developments, in-service training of teachers, educational research and evaluation.
